Job Summary
• This role is responsible for gathering insights into product categories, business challenges, and customer needs, and translating them into actionable improvements. The role handles low-complexity and low-impact tasks with limited customer interface under the close supervision of managers.
Responsibilities
• Develops a basic understanding of the products or services offered by the organization in order to communicate their features, benefits, and value proposition to potential customers.
• Works on simple problems under the supervision of an experienced Category sales representative.
• Follows up with leads and potential customers to nurture the relationship, answer questions, and gather additional information.
• Collaborates with various internal teams from marketing, sales, and finance to ensure seamless execution of category plans in adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures.
• Conducts external market analysis to gather insights about the industry, competitors, and customer preferences to contribute to the development of effective sales strategies.
• Holds responsibility for product line and quota management limited to low complexity and low impact product range or customer segment.
• Collects and analyzes customer feedback and data to understand customer needs, pain points, and improvement areas to enhance future deliverables.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales pipeline.
• Participates in training programs and gathers an understanding of product categories, business management, sales strategies, and challenges.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in category management, P&L management, or a related field.
