Be aware of and comply with Safety rules, operating procedures, and help hold co-workers accountable for safety related items.

Comply with quality procedures and policies. Attention to detail is key to ensuring product meets specifications and customer requirements. 

Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating at or above target speed. Work towards continual improvement of set up and downtime. Identify and address mechanical concerns and report to Production Supervisor or Production Manager or Plant Mechanical Tech/Specialist 

Ensures proper housekeeping and cleaning of work areas – keep work area clean and free of tripping hazards during shift and end of shift cleaning of the area. 

Learn and understand capability and capacity of machine and drive continual Improvement in efficiencies and limit waste and downtime. Do not sacrifice quality for machine speeds – maintain excellent quality and efficiencies with minimal downtime. 

Train and assist Machine Helpers and Production Utility with job duties on the machine. 

Understand the computer controls and entering of production information required for machine operation. 

Complete necessary paperwork / computer data entry in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: labor confirmations, spoilage reports, Safety checklists, Quality checklists. 

Assist with preventive maintenance completing assigned tasks weekly. 

Turn in maintenance work order requests to supervision for needed repairs on the machine or machines. Be proactive in the maintenance and housekeeping of equipment. 

Switch duties with co-workers, as necessary to promote learning. Promote an environment of continual education. 

Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping. 

Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor. 

Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift and overtime as necessary, sometimes on short notice. We serve our customers 24x7 – 365 days a year and sometimes work on holidays is not avoidable.
