About the role

Join us to own regulatory and safety compliance for our radio remote control systems for industrial machinery. You’ll bridge functional safety, RF/electronics, design, and certification, partnering with R&D and external labs from early design through certification and market surveillance.

What you’ll do

Regulatory & Product Compliance

  • Lead product compliance for radio remote controls (EU & global).

  • Interpret/apply: EU RED (2014/53/EU), Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, EMC, LVD / EN 62368‑1, and market approvals (e.g., FCC, IC, MIC, SRRC, ANATEL).

  • Prepare/maintain Declarations of Conformity (DoC) and technical files.

Functional Safety

  • Support compliance to EN ISO 13849‑1/-2

  • Contribute to safety concepts (safety functions/architectures, PL/SIL justification, FMEA, FMEDA, MTTFd, DCavg, B10d).

  • Support safety validation, documentation and audits.

Laboratory Testing & Certification

  • Plan/coordinate/witness testing: RF (EN 300 220 / EN 301 489 / FCC Part 15), EMC, electrical safety, environmental, and functional safety validation.

  • Interface with external labs, Notified Bodies/ExCB, and certification partners; review test plans/reports and drive corrective actions.

Documentation & Quality

  • Maintain structured technical files; ensure traceability Requirements → Design → Tests → Certificates.

  • Support internal/external audits

Minimum qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years in product compliance, safety, or test engineering (radio products, industrial electronics, or machinery controls).

  • Hands‑on collaboration with test labs/Notified Bodies/certification agencies.

  • Electronics design basics; awareness of RF & wireless regulations.

  • Familiarity with EMC/electrical safety/env. testing, risk analysis, and safety documentation.

Preferred qualifications

  • Functional safety fundamentals (EN ISO 13849).

  • Experience with radio remote controls or safety‑related control systems.

  • ATEX/IECEx exposure (hazardous areas).

  • Cybersecurity familiarity (IEC 62443, EU CRA‑related practices).

  • Multi‑site/global engineering collaboration; ability to read schematics/basic PCB layouts.

  • Practical exposure to environmental and mechanical qualification testing (e.g., IP rating, vibration, drop, thermal, humidity, salt mist) used in certifying industrial electronics.

Why Join Us

  • Build safety‑critical products used globally, influencing design from day one.

  • Collaborate with experienced multidisciplinary R&D across sites.

  • Gain broad exposure to global certifications and regulatory environments.

Primary location is flexible. The role can be placed in any of the following Hetronic/Methode sites: Germany, Oklahoma (USA), Abensberg, or Milan.
