Job Overview:

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to collaborate with our cross-functional team in designing intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for our digital products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for user-centered design and a strong portfolio showcasing their expertise in creating engaging and user-friendly interfaces across web and mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

1. UI Design: Create high-quality, user-centric interface designs for web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency and usability across all platforms.
2. Wireframing and Prototyping: Develop wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups to visualize design concepts and user interactions.
3. Visual Design: Design visually stunning interfaces that enhance the overall user experience while adhering to brand guidelines and design principles.
4. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and UX designers, to translate user needs and business requirements into compelling design solutions.
5. User Research: Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions, iterating based on feedback and data-driven insights.
6. Design Processes: Develop comprehensive personas, user journeys, and experience maps to guide design processes.
7. Design Systems: Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and style guides to ensure consistency and scalability across products and platforms.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Product Design or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in UI design roles, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital design projects.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and usability best practices.
• Experience with responsive design and designing for multiple screen sizes and devices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and articulate design concepts effectively.
• Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
• Experience designing for data, insights and content exploration strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits 

• Salary and stock options are negotiated based on experience. 
• Healthcare at the gold-tier level, dental, and vision is fully funded by the employer. 50% of dependent coverage is provided by the employer.
• Unlimited vacation, sick leave, including office closure between Christmas and New Year’s, and extended holidays at Thanksgiving and the 4th of July.
• Employer sponsored 401k with a 3% match.
• Hybrid work environment, with 2-3 days per week required in office in Washington, D.C or New York.

The salary range for this position is  $124,000 to $196,000, depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.   In addition to cash compensation, this role is eligible for a stock option grant.
