Looking for a role that fits around your life and offers a supportive, experienced, and friendly team?
Then look no further! Our flexible work opportunities will allow you to achieve work-life balance while collaborating with a team committed to your growth and success.
Donnachie and Townley Veterinary Centre is a group of two small animal practices that have been serving the veterinary needs of companion animals in Rugeley and surrounding areas for over three decades. Our premises are accredited by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme in Core Standards and Tier 2 Small Animal General Practice.
As a surgeon at D&T Vets, your day-to-day role would consist of 1 day of surgery, 1 day of consultations, and 2 days of a mixture of both. We are open to tailoring the frequency of surgery with your role to match your preference if you have a surgical or consultation bias.
The ideal candidate for this role would be a surgeon who feels comfortable with all primary care duties, but we may be able to support a surgeon with more advanced procedures if they are comfortable with all routine primary care duties. We actively encourage investing in our associates and professional development.
Benefits
About us
Both sites are situated in beautiful market towns, just a short 50-minute drive away from the bustling city of Birmingham. We love the fact that we have easy access to both the city and the serene countryside surroundings. Additionally, West Midlands Airport is just an hour's drive away.
Our premises are light, and spacious, and have recently been renovated, our Rugeley site has two theatres, which are linked by glass, and we have all the necessary equipment such as digital X-ray, in-house blood machines, ultrasound, and dental radiography.
The team comprises of 6 experienced Veterinary Surgeons, a dedicated nurse, and front of house team. We are associated with Shires Vets, which enables us to offer a wide range of facilities and services across our group. Although there is no need to work at the Shires site, we hold regular vet meetings between both sites, share CPD events, and support specific caseloads between the two groups.
As a practice, we take great pride in our closely-knit team, which is very supportive of each other. We are all highly motivated individuals who are passionate about our work and are committed to maintaining high standards of care for our patients. We are a sociable bunch and enjoy working together.
We take pride in being a local practice and building a good rapport with our clients. Some of our clients have been visiting us for many years, and we treat every pet that comes through our doors as if they were our own. We believe in case continuity wherever possible. While we primarily care for small animals, we are happy to provide first aid to wildlife and have worked with local aquatic and reptile shops, taking care of odd and interesting creatures like owls, hedgehogs, snakes, and even a baby dragon!
We are proud to have achieved Silver status in the Cat-Friendly scheme in both of our practices, Silver RWAF and Silver Investors in the Environment (iiE) accreditation.
At Linnaeus, we are committed to supporting the physical and mental health of all our Associates. We have an amazing team of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) across our practices and central support office in addition to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme which is available for everyone.
