We are searching for the best talent for Manager, Production Planning & Scheduling to support our MedTech Orthopeadics business​ in Grecia, Costa Rica.

Purpose:

Reporting to the Production Planning & Scheduling Senior Manager, the Manager will have responsibility for managing a team of supply chain personnel, including organizing and prioritizing goals and objectives in line with business strategy.

 

This role is crucial for collaborating with Global Planning Teams to assess and consolidate direct materials supply demand, manage supply risks with external suppliers and business partners, and escalate significant issues to senior stakeholders to mitigate short- and medium-term supply challenges.

 

This role will be a subject matter expert for the site ERP system. This will involve testing and ensuring all necessary transactions are operational, working with the IT teams to develop the system, and the training of team members.

 

This Leader will work closely with our in-house business excellence team to ensure all site standards are met.

 

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Responsible for ensuring the manufacturing build plans support high levels of customer service while maintaining minimum levels of inventory.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and management of a team, to support execution of the Supply Chain strategy related to Planning, Procurement, Inventory Management Warehousing and Logistics.
  • People leadership and development (e.g. resource planning, structure, and development)
  • Assessing different distribution methods to reduce product lead times while identifying and achieving cost reduction opportunities.
  • Responsible for managing finished goods, raw materials and WIP inventory levels.
  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and initiating activities on multiple projects related to Supply Chain to ensure project deliverable dates and scope are met.
  • Leads, monitors, assesses and communicates risks on key Supply Chain projects, providing regular updates to Senior Management
  • Ensure compliance with current regulatory standards and guidelines (EHS, Quality and Financial compliance)
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for the operation of Plan activities, ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are met.
  • Implements and maintains material and production control systems, policies, processes and procedures ensuring a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. 
  • Work closely with other departments in implementing process improvements to achieve plant goals of production output, efficiencies, unit cost and quality
  • E2E focus: assist in the development and execution of continuous improvement plans, cost reduction and performance management aligned with JJPS & JJOS standards.
  • Provide strategic influence while building sustainable partnerships with key supply chain partners (NPI, Commercial, Product Management, GSC).
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, is responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
  • Is responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • University bachelor’s degree (operations, business, logistics, systems)
  • MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 6 - 8 years’ materials function experience.
  • 3 years in at least one of the following disciplines: materials planning, master scheduling; inventory management, demand management.
  • 3 years management experience preferred.
  • Other knowledges: Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele base.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and the public.
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures and in to comply civil rights requirements.
  • Project management tools and techniques. Six Sigma and/or Lean Certification (FPX, JJOS, JJPS, Green Belt or Black Belt) is preferred.
  • Understanding of Health, Safety and legal requirements for the safe operation of the team
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Stakeholder management of multi decision makers, colleagues, peers and cross functional teams.
  • Expertise in production planning, scheduling and inventory management.
  • Ability to make effective decisions.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading a team in similar environment of logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical skills to make quantitative projections and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to fully realize improvement initiatives.
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, and have a demonstrated ability to follow assignments through to completion
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP/SAP EWM or similar (JDE, Oracle, WMS, IMs)
