The Manager, Digital Innovation will bridge business needs and technology, using your commercial acumen and passion for innovation to enhance the way we engage with our customers. The role will be focused on delivering digital tools that increase the effectiveness of our engagements and enable personalized communication, ensuring every interaction is more targeted, relevant, and impactful. The Manager, Digital Innovation will identify, develop, and implement digital solutions - drawing from both internal expertise and external collaborations - to transform engagement challenges into strategic opportunities, expanding our reach, strengthening relationships, and maximizing business growth across the pharmaceutical ecosystem.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building strong partnerships with commercial, marketing, and sales leaders across Europe to discover high-impact opportunities where digital technology can elevate customer engagement and personalize communications.

  • Scouting, evaluating, and rolling out best-in-class digital engagement tools and AI-powered platforms that optimize communication effectiveness and tailor messaging to individual stakeholder needs—deepening BMS’s connection with our customers and driving stronger outcomes.

  • Designing and implementing solutions that enable data-driven, personalized content delivery, maximizing relevance and resonance in every interaction to fuel engagement and support commercial objectives.

  • Facilitating collaboration across internal teams and external digital innovators to co-create and pilot new personalization and engagement solutions, ensuring a constant stream of fresh ideas.

  • Crafting persuasive business cases that inspire investment in advanced digital engagement initiatives and mobilize cross-functional support, translating digital strategy into measurable commercial growth.

  • Orchestrating seamless delivery from concept to launch by aligning diverse teams—Marketing, Sales, Medical, BI&A, Legal, Quality, Regulatory, and Procurement—towards ambitious customer engagement and personalization goals.

  • Maximizing deployment by setting robust metrics and rigorously tracking performance, ensuring every solution delivers measurable impact on customer engagement, personalization, and business momentum.

  • Inspiring a culture of innovation and agility, empowering teams to challenge conventions, embrace digital technologies, and drive sustained transformation in personalized customer engagement across BMS.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in digital innovation, customer engagement solutions, or commercial excellence within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or technology sectors

  • Good verbal and written communication skills (both in English and local language)

  • Strong track record in identifying, developing, and implementing digital tools and AI-driven solutions that enhance customer engagement and personalization

  • Demonstrated success in driving cross-functional collaboration and delivering impactful projects in complex, matrixed organizations

  • Experience working with digital platforms, CRM systems, omnichannel marketing, and personalization technology

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen, business case development skills, and ability to translate digital initiatives into tangible business outcomes

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering measurable impact for customers and the organization

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture. For field-based and remote-by-design roles the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
