Northrop Grumman Marine Systems sector is seeking a Principal Project Manager/Sr Principal Project Manager for S3 OU Classified Program located in Annapolis Junction, MD.  This position is on-site, with flexible scheduling.

The primary responsibility of the Project Manager will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions.  The individual will support a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals.

Specific duties will include:

  • Manages all phases of program and project execution
  • Manages schedule for development, production, rapid fielding deliverable, and product upgrades along with budgets
  • Provides delivery projections to the customer along with frequent customer status reports
  • Assesses product issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Provides upwards reporting for senior management program reviews
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives

This position may be filled as a Principal Project Management or Senior Principal Project Management. 

Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience.  Will consider 10 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement. 
  • High-energy strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to operate and communicate at both a strategic and a hands-on level as needed
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines
  • Ability to influence and drive results without direct authority of personnel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as analytical, planning and presentation skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others
  • A current active DoD Clearance, TS, SCI w/ FSP
  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience.  Will consider 14 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement. 
  • High-energy strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to operate and communicate at both a strategic and a hands-on level as needed
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines
  • Ability to influence and drive results without direct authority of personnel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as analytical, planning and presentation skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others
  • A current active DoD Clearance, TS, SCI w/ FSP
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Access
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and problem-solving abilities

Salary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00Salary Range 2: $109,900.00 - $164,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
