Role Description 

The Sr Manager, Workforce Development reports to the Director of Human Resources.  In this role you will be responsible for designing and delivering company-wide talent development solutions and programs that accelerate the success of EquipmentShare’s most valuable asset, our employees. This functional HR leader will build, introduce, and launch programs focused on upskilling the leaders across our organization. This role will also lead key program teams supporting apprenticeship, veteran, and internship talent attraction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • General Manager (GM) Pipeline Development: In this role you will be responsible for creating an internal development and onboarding pipeline for GM roles. This includes an analysis of critical skills needed in the GM role, a scalable assessment to determine skill level, and intentional development opportunities to progress employees towards role readiness. You will work closely with the Director of HR and Director of TA to identify future headcount demand needs, difficult to staff markets, and succession planning opportunities to fill roles through this program. While we will start with the GM population as a prototype, we will subsequently look to scale this approach to other critical roles. 
  • Manager Capability: Working across the HR team, you will identify areas of opportunity to upskill our manager population. This will include but is not limited to: driving a self-service environment, establishing and teaching manager core competencies, and working with HRBP teams to deploy talent development products necessary to engage our managers in the Talent Management processes, as well as scale their capabilities for future process implementations.
  • Leadership of Workforce Development Programs: In this role you will lead the program management teams for internships, apprenticeships, and veteran talent.  These programs provide crucial career opportunities for new and existing employees at EquipmentShare.

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent business/leadership experience in Business Administration, Program Management, Human Resource Management, or related field 
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in Learning and Development, Talent Management or related field 
  • 5+ years leadership experience in a fast paced environment 
  • Experience across both the exempt and non-exempt leader populations 
  • Experience delivering quantifiable results in support of strategic programs
  • In-depth knowledge of employee career paths and internal development programs 
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems independently with extreme attention to detail 
  • Passion for working with people, with a curiosity to dive deep into programs and processes, and lead transformative change
  • High level of integrity, trust ,and confidentiality required 
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive talent management development decisions 
  • Self starter who thrives in a fast-paced and ever changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate and influence leaders at all levels 
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn Google Workspace (spreadsheets, documents, slides) 
  • Potential for occasional travel (estimated 20%)
