JOB SUMMARY
Job Profile SummaryDirects measurement, regulation, and various other operations in an operating service area. May supervise construction and operating maintenance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and direct employees in construction, maintenance, installation, and operation of measurement and regulation stations within a pipeline system including but not limited to (as specified by position):
- Leakage survey and repair
- Regulation/measurement
- Chart changing
- Pipeline, well, and meter testing
- Natural gas sampling/Chromatography
- Pigging and gauging operations
- Locating/flagging lines
- Safety
- Flow computer installation/troubleshooting/programming
- Flow meter installation/troubleshooting
- Atmospheric Corrosion control
- Direct installation and operation of transmission/distribution facilities including but not limited to (as specified by position):
- Measurement/regulation settings and valves
- Pipeline crossings/junctions
- Pigging facilities and gas conditioning equipment
- Odorization facilities
- Electronic pressure recorders
- Provide information and assistance to producers, pumpers, contractors, governmental employees, customers, inspectors, employees, and others relative to company activities, policies, and procedures
- Coordinate and/or communicate with other departments, districts, and General Office management related to projects and operations
- Compile, prepare, and/or verify information including but not limited to:
- Status/activity reports
- Meter/regulator setting designs
- Pipeline, well, and meter test results
- Natural gas sampling
- Customer correspondence
- Job orders/completion reports
- Gas accounting activities
- Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
Education
Work Experience
- Experience in construction, maintenance, and operation of gas measurements, pipeline systems and appurtenances
- Experience in measurement and regulation operations
- Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including accessing computers and applications
- Experience and training related to:
- Electronic measuring/testing devices
- Chart changing
- Natural gas sampling/Chromatography
- Leakage survey
- Company/governmental operating and safety procedures
- Emergency response procedures
- Communications skills/customer relations
- Flow computer software and hardware
- Atmospheric Corrosion control
- Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively
- Experience training, directing, and/or supervising; working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures
- Experience researching, compiling, and/or preparing job orders, reports, budgets, and correspondence
- Experience reading and interpreting manuals, reports, governmental regulations, job orders, contracts, drawings, plats, maps, policies, procedures, and correspondence
- Experience developing information and making presentations to individuals or groups
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to: apply math and algebraic formulas
- Ability to: communicate and/or exchange information or instructions including the use of two-way radios
- Ability to: assist employees in performance of routine and/or emergency activists such as a construction and maintenance; chart changing; pipeline, well, and meter testing; leakage detection and repair; and corrosion control
- Ability to: operate tools and equipment required

Expected Salary Range
$102,000.00 - $154,000.00
