Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE:

The purpose of the HR Assistant position is to be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Team Leader to carry out responsibilities in the following areas:  Benefits administration, employee relations, training, hourly performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage entire hourly recruitment process (including job bid): Post recruitment ads internally & externally. Collect applications/ resumes. Pre-screen and interview applicants.  Conduct testing. Conduct reference/background checks.  Assist with New Hire Onboarding.  

  • Explains and interprets company insurance and other benefit programs to partners and dependents. 

  • Work closely with the HRTL to Plan, Manage, and Communicate special projects and programs such as employee recognition, benefits, recruiting, performance management, and surveys

  • Process status changes and track wage increases.  

  • Provide administrative support to the HR Team.  To include data entry, typing and computer aided preparation of other documents as requested. 

  • Prepares and files reports of short term disability, FMLA and other types of partner leaves. 

  • Maintains contact with Home Office, Finance, Payroll and leadership Partners to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.

  • Maintains partner files and other record keeping such as I-9’s, life status changes, etc. 

  • Enter, update and maintain current information into HRIS system. Assume the responsibility of ordering and the distribution of uniforms 

  • Assist with the scheduling and preparation of company events 

  • Must be able to work overtime as required. 

  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:                                                                                                       

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred

    

SKILLS:

  • Must have demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Must have proven excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Must have previous PC experience.  Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional exposure to and proficiency in Workday, Power Point and HR Tools preferred.

  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Gain and maintain an understanding of all office equipment.

  • Willing to perform duties assigned and manage multiple priorities.
