About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Occupational Therapy service in palliative and supportive care. The level 1/2 occupational therapist works across the inpatient and community palliative care teams. The level 1/2 occupational therapist is responsible for providing quality and timely care to palliative care clients linked with the service. The level 1/2 acts in accordance with the mission and values of St Vincent’s and assists the level 4 Team lead occupational therapist as directed. This role may also incorporate management of newly transitioned patients to a palliative pathway in the acute facility at St Vincent’s and also has capacity to incorporate new models of care into service delivery such as telehealth and virtual care. The role will also provide support as directed by the Occupational Therapy manager to areas of need as required with rehab also being a focus.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Occupational Therapist who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are keen team players and that are flexible and adaptable.

Selection Criteria:
Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and Current Australian Occupational Therapy Registration (AHPRA).
Previous post-graduate Occupational Therapy clinical experience in one or more in the following areas: Palliative Care, Haematology/Oncology, Motor Neuron Diseases, Transplant, community or other life-limiting illness.
Demonstrated well developed written and verbal communication skills including multidisciplinary liaison
Experience of independently managing an equipment loan pool
Experience with quality projects/research with a commitment to evidence-based practice and continued professional development
Experience in Quality improvement and knowledge of the process
Current unrestricted NSW Class C Driver’s License
