The Civil Engineer – CAD Designer’s primary duty is to execute general engineering computation; the preparation various Civil Engineering drawings and documents for various preliminary and construction projects; and ensuring documents, exhibits and layouts are timely and accurate. The Civil Engineer – CAD Designer will apply revisions to drawings, evaluate calculations, and identify revisions that require contract change orders.

NOTE: this is an in-office opportunity - remote/hybrid not available. This position sits at our Angleton/Lake Jackson office.
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
Coordinating with real estate and design team at project start-up
Preparing conceptual plans and exhibits
Creating drawing submittal schedules based on the project requirements and monitor progress required to maintain schedule
Producing installation drawings and calculations according to contract documents
Applying revisions to placement drawings and calculations according to comments on approved drawings and/or revisions
Identifying revisions that require contract change orders
Material takeoff for change order process and opinions of probable construction costs based on concept drawings
Reviewing placement drawings for construction prior to permitting
Maintaining electronic copies of all submittals and correspondence according to company policy
Assist with the preparation of site investigation reports (SIR)
Assist engineering and construction staff with report and other documents
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
The position requirements include, but are not limited to:
CAD related AS Degree preferred, BS in Civil Engineering, or equivalent work experience as CAD Drafter/Technician
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a demanding fast-paced environment
Strong math skills and proficiency with AutoCAD (2010+) is required; 3D thinking abilities are required
Licensed P.E. or EIT (Civil) optional
2+ years of Civil Engineering drafting and design experience preferred
Strong verbal, written communication, and general mathematic skills a must
