Job Summary: The Wellstar Bistro Server primary function will include serving, cashiering, hosting, Barista and pre-busing all while satisfying the needs of the guest. Must be able to use computer registers, balance cash, properly complete daily cashier paperwork, and maintain flow of customer line. In addition, area is maintained in a professional and welcoming condition by restocking and general cleanup. The neatly presented server demonstrates a positive attitude and impression. Working from a team-centered approach, communicates effectively while serving the needs of the restaurant guest. Makes excellence the goal of each interaction. All aspects of food handling shall be in accordance with HACCP, health and regulatory standards. Completes all other job duties as assigned by leadership. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Customer Service and Cultural awareness - Ability to function effectively in unexpected circumstances and intervenes and resolves customer service issues as necessary - Seeks and uses information concerning culturally based needs of customers team members - Greets customers using appropriate scripting - Pulls the team together, gets assignments done, keeps management informed, and proactively anticipates and resolves customer service issues - Communicates with all customers in clear concise and simple terms that are understandable and includes all necessary information, utilizing good listening skills: clarifying when necessary, and lets people finish speaking Resource Management Performance Improvement - Manage time in a resourceful manner to meet the needs and objectives of the restaurant and completion of job assignments - Manage food preparation so as to reduce any waste - Operate equipment in compliance with training processes and manufacturers directions and guidelines Positive Attitude - Speaks in positive and respectful terms and walks with confidence, establishes eye contact and smiles - Uses positive body language and/or speaks positively and in respectful terms - Possesses a positive attitude and shows respect at all times regardless of situation and circumstance and focuses on what is possible, smiles and speaks to all - Identifies opportunities for Performance Improvement Food Safety Environmental Safety - Washes hands, wears gloves appropriately, sanitizes work area also helps to make others aware of these needs - Maintains annual safety and infection control requirements - Ensures all foods are handled in compliance with ServSafe Guidelines - Ensures work area is clean and organized, free of spills and debris Adherence to Company and Department Operating Policy and Procedures - Takes and records temperatures for coolers and food - Follows WellStars established money handling guidelines - Handles and stores all food items in compliance with HACCP Cobb County Health Department codes and guidelines - Proactively works to keep area compliant with fire regulations. Encourages a safe work environment. - Uniform fits properly; is clean and pressed. Appropriate shoes are worn and shall be non-slip, clean, polished and in good repair. Hair is restrained properly at all times. Nails are natural, trimmed, clean and free of polish. Required Minimum Education:
  • High School Diploma General-Preferred or GED General-Preferred
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
    Additional License(s) and Certification(s): Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year restaurant food service experience Preferred Required Minimum Skills: Must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and math. Ability to maintain excellent customer under stressful conditions in a courteous, professional, yet tactful manner. Good math skills required. Must be able to deliver meals and beverages. Knowledge of safe food handling procedures.
