We are seeking a Plant Accounting leader to provide financial leadership and oversight for several US South (as assigned) manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate is the finance business partner to plant operations and the leadership team. The role provides the day-to-day accounting support at the assigned plants as well as month-end close, financial reporting, variance analysis, annual plan and rolling forecast. The candidate will have to build extensive operational expertise with local teams to help root cause issues, collaborate and partner on continuous process improvements for business processes, controls, and profitability. The position will report to the Assistant Controller and will be based in Atlanta, GA area.

Job Functions: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

· Proactive Business Partner that collaborates with Regional Leadership, and other Plant Leaders to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis.

· Lead and work along with the extended Accounting team to support effective and efficient delivery of accounting processes including:

· Establish and maintain accurate monthly closing of assigned plant(s) financials, per the closing cycle.

· Participate in all facets of the month-end closing process, including the creation of journal entries and preparation of variance analysis with commentary to explain monthly results for assigned plants that can be understood by plant and senior operations management.

· Collaborate on plants monthly / quarterly inventory counts, and recurring plant site visits as required for completeness and accuracy of reported inventory (raw materials and finished goods) with plant operations and report out to management.

· Coordinate and prepare audit requirements to reconcile inventory and provides analysis ensuring it is recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

· Responsible for the adherence to and execution of the company’s accounting procedures and controls and completeness of balance sheet account reconciliations.

· Understand inventory composition and monthly results, customer base and its relationship with monthly sales, and work to provide effective direction and assistance in resolving month-end or daily issues with current and future action plans.

· Provide management with timely, accurate, and relevant financial reporting that is meaningful to running the business.

· Partner with cross functional leaders (Shared Services, Procurement, Commercial, etc.) as required to resolve business issues and improve operational efficiencies.

Qualifications / Additional Skills:

Required:

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related area.

· Minimum of at least 4+ years of experience

· Manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience

· Must have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and inventory cost accounting

· Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office Suite tools

· ERP systems experience in financial and manufacturing modules

· Strong customer focus with analytical, financial, and economic thinking skills

· Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and collaborate

· Detail oriented and excellent organizational and analytical skills

· Flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

· Proven initiative and willingness to drive change, with a focus on innovation, process improvement and solving problems

· Leadership skills with prior experience coaching and developing teams

· Excellent communication, collaboration, interpersonal and organization skills

· Must possess a strong work ethic.

· Travel 25% to 30%

Preferred:

· Certification such as CPA or CMA

· JD Edwards experience
