Responsibilities:

  • Ensure key IT systems, hardware, services and processes are available
  • Proactively evaluate and monitor performance of key systems and processes to ensure continued business operations
  • Some desktop and network support for the local office users and visitors
  • Physical installation and maintenance of server and storage hardware
  • Coordinate and communicate with leadership on proposed or implemented resolutions and changes
  • Meet organizational SLA metrics
  • Work with the global team as well as local stakeholders in the implementation and testing of new technologies and/or initiatives
  • Work directly with local Lumentum team on resolving time sensitive issues
  • Collaborate with other IT and business teams on projects.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Windows Desktop expertise is a must
  • Some experience in support Windows Server (2008R2, 2012R2) environments is a must
  • Some experience in supporting server environments and infrastructure is required
  • Some experience in supporting Linux (RedHat/CentOS) environments is preferred
  • Some background in understanding and supporting hypervisor technologies is a must (VMware)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure (SMTP, FTP, SFTP, ssh, DNS, DHCP) services is preferred
  • Experience in automation of manual tasks is preferred
  • Backup and restore technologies and practices is preferred
  • Cloud technology (Amazon, Google, Azure) is a plus
  • Web server experience (Apache, IIS) is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Virtualization (VMware) is a plus
  • Enterprise Networking knowledge is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years of professional IT Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
