Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Safety and Environmental Compliance Associate II within the Safety and Environmental Compliance department. The position is based out of our Headquarters facility in Millersville, MD and requires frequent State-wide travel to projects located throughout the State of Maryland.

This position assists with the management and implementation of the Service’s safety programs and the MES Compliance Focused Environmental Management System at all MES operated facilities located State-wide. Supports the Safety and Environmental Compliance Division responsible for assisting with training employees, and planning, developing, and managing programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental laws and regulations. Responsible for independent audits of operated facilities to verify projects are meeting applicable rules and regulations that apply to the varying industry sectors MES projects are classified as.

Estimated Pay Range:

$64,290 - $88,397.83

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in safety, public health, environmental science, environmental management, or natural resource management field, plus two years’ experience in the safety and health and/or environmental regulatory field. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points, and must be able to obtain and maintain certification in the American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor Certification.
