Senior Speech Language Pathologist / Adults / Full-Time

At NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, our Speech-Language Pathologists help patients experiencing serious impairments connect with the world around them. Our tremendous team provides the expertise patients need to flourish in the areas of dysphagia and communication. And we are always looking for better ways to accomplish this goal. The ideal candidate will evaluate and treat adult outpatients with communication and swallowing disorders and provide intervention to patients on our CARF accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit and in acute care/intensive care, as well as our busy Emergency Department. Be exposed to the highest acuity conditions while caring for the swallowing and communication needs of medically complex patients.

This is a Full-Time position working Tuesday -Saturday from 8:30 am-4:30 pm at the Columbia campus. You are also required to work 2 Holidays per year. This position may float to the Allen Hospital as needed.

Preferred Criteria

• Experience in the evaluation and treatment of neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders.
• Experience managing tracheostomy patients.
• Flexible to move between different units and patient types as needed within the same shift.

Required Criteria

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association.
• New York State licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 
• Minimum 3 + years of clinical work experience in the hospital setting.
• Competency in complex dysphagia management in the hospital setting.
• Competency in Videofluoroscopy and/or Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing.

$59.24-$61.68/Hourly
