At Sandvik, the Accounting Clerk plays a key role in supporting Accounts Receivable activities, as well as functions related to order intake and sales support. This position helps ensure compliance with accounting standards while contributing to ongoing system and process improvements that strengthen financial visibility, accuracy, and accountability.

What you will be doing

• Accounts Receivable activities including invoicing, processing payments and reconciliation on intercompany accounts.
• Tracking of Order Intake for business areas, recording orders in CRM.
• Prepare shipping documents for outgoing orders.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare variance reports, and investigate deviations
• Support with Month End/Year End closing tasks
• Support with quarterly forecasting processes
• Assist with testing and gathering information for Internal Controls testing.
• Participate in ad hoc financial projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and maintain high standards of data accuracy
• Function as back-up and support for Accounts Payable.

Required Competencies:

• Solid understanding of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and variance analysis

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to interpret financial results and provide actionable insights

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and with external organizations.

• High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications:

• CPA designation or working towards designation is preferred
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in financial reporting or general accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Syspro ERP system would be an asset.
• Experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Workiva, Onestream) is an asset
• Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and internal control standards.
