POSITION SUMMARY:

Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opportunity for a Warehouse Technician supporting Supply Chain and facility operations functions at the Los Angeles - Carson Refinery. Under the general direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, this position performs warehousing activities in support of routine maintenance, shutdown, turnarounds, and small capital projects such as receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to meet established service level objectives in a safe and secure manner. Interfaces with various operating groups including Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Health and Safety, etc. 

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Unloads material deliveries, reviews shipments for accuracy, books material receipts, and stores material in accordance with Company and site policies and procedures.

• Maintain knowledge of the business units being supported and understand the relative importance of materials and equipment required to be managed as warehouse inventory.

• Pulls material required for maintenance, repair, operations, and construction of the facility; loads material for delivery and/or shipment.

• Understands workflow processes and SAP warehousing functionality.

• Performs cycle counts, receiving and shipping duties and ensures proper documentation has been completed.

• Identifies inventory discrepancies, receiving discrepancies and damaged material and takes appropriate action.

• Coordinates the monitoring and control of inventory in conjunction with the warehouse leader and the Supply Chain Operations Materials Management department.

• Maintains records in accordance with the Company’s records retention policy.

• Performs daily housekeeping tasks related to keeping safe, clean, and organized stores.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 1+ year working in a Warehouse or Supply Chain role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • General knowledge of refining industry materials
  • 2+ years SAP or other ERP system experience
  • Forklift certification or prior experience desirable
