Summary of Job Duties:

Under general direction, provides accurate and timely solutions to faculty classroom technology setup and problem resolution: audiovisual equipment, computer and software. Provides second and third level classroom support. Coordinates configuration and installation, and general troubleshooting of presentation hardware, software and peripherals. Performs restorative and maintenance actions either remotely or in the classroom to resolve problems, using advanced troubleshooting and technical skills. Responds to situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing problem equipment, software installations, or configuration changes. Trains faculty and support staff in use of specialized teaching software.


Qualifications:

*** After hours and weekend on-call duty every 9 weeks

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study with 3 yrs of experience in AV system design, installation, and operation (live event support) and/or IT technical support (4 years in AV) -OR
  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study with 5yrs of experience in AV system design, installation, and operation (live event support) and/or IT technical support (4 years in AV) -OR
  • Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study with 7 yrs. of experience in AV system design, installation, and operation (live event support) and/or IT technical support (4 years in AV) -OR
  • High School Diploma/GED  9 yrs. of experience in AV system design, installation, and operation (live event support) and/or IT technical support (4 years in AV)
  • Certification - AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) If not already certified must complete certification within one year from date of hire.
  • Work may require working on ladders, installing equipment and wiring on and above ceiling.
  • Must be able focus projectors on screens and set audio levels in large rooms.
  • Some work is in confined space. Installation work may require extensive bending, squatting and lying down.
  • Workload pressure will regularly subject incumbent to moderate to high job-related stress.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study
  • One or more of the following AVIXA/Crestron certifications: CTS-I, CTS-D, DMC-E 4K
  • Knowledgeable using Crestron Programming, Dante
  • Customer Service Experience
