As part of our strategic growth, we are hiring a new Global Business Line (BL) Controller for both our Low Voltage Drives and Motors & Generators Services Business Lines in Motion Services.  
 
In this role, you’ll shape the financial strategy for our business lines and act as a strategic business partner to the Global Business Lines Managers and the Business Lines leadership team. You will shape the global business model and optimize financial performance across Service Support Units and countries. You will support effective decision-making by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to evaluate business alternatives and recommend optimal solutions. You will also optimize financial performance while championing sustainable practices across the value chain to maximize net income for the global Business Lines.  

 

As part of the Motion Services’ Finance Leadership Team, you will govern the definition and implementation of global standards, and business specific financial control guidelines, contributing to the successful deployment of the overall business strategy. 

 
While the role is open globally, our preferred location is set in Helsinki, Finland. Willingness to travel is required (up to 30% of the time yearly) and the work model is hybrid #LI-hybrid 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Business Partnership: Act as a trusted financial advisor to the Business Line Managers and leadership teams, contributing strategic input to both Business Lines and Division-level strategy development and execution through collaborative insight and sound judgment 

  • Financial Planning & Performance Management: Own the Business Lines' long-term and annual financial planning cycle; assess financial feasibility of strategic initiatives and drive accountability for achieving performance targets through transparent communication, data-driven insights, and collaborative problem-solving 

  • Performance Monitoring & Analytics: Establish and maintain robust reporting platforms and analytics capabilities that provide real-time visibility into financial performance, KPIs, and key business drivers in alignment with Group standards, enabling informed decision-making across the organization 

  • Investment & Portfolio Management: Evaluate and oversee financial aspects of investments, divestments, acquisitions, and restructuring projects, including tender risk reviews, contract risk assessment, and pricing strategy from a financial perspective, working closely with cross-functional partners 

  • Compliance, Controls & Governance: Ensure full compliance with corporate and country regulations; build and oversee effective internal control frameworks; support internal and external audit activities; maintain transparency and integrity in financial reporting and disclosures 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain strong partnerships across Group functions (Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, Planning, Tax, Real Estate, and Information Systems), fostering open communication and integrated financial management to drive organizational alignment 

  • Finance Excellence & Best Practices: Identify, champion, and implement finance best practices across the Business Line, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, psychological safety, and collaborative problem-solving 

  • Finance Talent Development & Engagement: Lead recruitment, capability building, and succession planning for finance personnel; mentor emerging talent; foster active engagement, inclusive dialogue, and knowledge sharing within the finance community 

 

Qualifications  

  • Academic foundation: bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field with a minimum of 10 years of progressive Business Controlling experience in large, multinational organizations 

  • Financial Mastery: Deep expertise in financial processes and tools, with demonstrated ability to challenge conventional practices and champion continuous improvement initiatives 

  • Regulatory Acumen: Advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and robust internal control frameworks with proven compliance expertise 

  • Strategic Business Insight: Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to leverage industrial market and customer intelligence to drive outside-in strategic thinking 

  • Results-Oriented Leadership: Proven track record of delivering measurable results and driving operational execution in complex, matrix business environments 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional communicator and authentic team player with demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders across all organizational levels 

  • Analytical Excellence: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights 

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; additional languages a plus
