Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure that local businesses in assigned areas conduct their activities in line with ABB trade policies and guidelines and to implement ABB's Global Trade Program. Each day, you will be responsible to ensure compliance with import/export-related trade regulations at a local level. You will also showcase your expertise by creating, documenting, and maintaining procedures and guidelines for export control and sanctions, as well as customs compliance requirements.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Providing periodic updates to the relevant stakeholders on the status of the local implementation of ABB’s Global Trade Program and significant changes in export control and customs laws/regulations.
Implementing and maintaining a general export control and customs compliance awareness program for local business staff and providing trade-related training to employees (particularly in cases of delegated export control responsibilities).
Facilitating seamless connection between trade compliance and day-to-day operations, including master data requirements, supplier qualifications, etc., in collaboration with staff in the assigned area.
Conducting local trade reviews and/or annual “self-audits” with respect to trade compliance, identifying improvement areas, and taking corrective actions.
Develop and implement effective logistics strategies to streamline supply chain processes
Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other logistics partners
Negotiate contracts with logistics service providers to secure favorable terms
Analyze data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement in logistics operations, develop performance KPI
Oversee the transportation and distribution of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate inventory levels and optimize order fulfillment
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Stay informed about industry trends and innovations to enhance logistics strategies
Qualifications for the role
Secondary school or University degree
IT Skills MS Office 365 and relevant trade/customs applications such as SAP Global Trade Services (GTS).
Required Languages English and Czech proficiency required - min. B2
Knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, export controls and sanctions.
Relevant competences and experience in trade compliance and import/export operations, min 3 years of experience in the field
Structured, detail-oriented, strong sense of ownership; able to influence across functions.
