Job Summary

Summary
Responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech and language disorders. Routinely work with patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly, and develop customized treatment plans to help them improve their communication skills.


Essential Functions
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders in patients.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.

Provide therapy to patients with various communication and swallowing disorders.

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and treatment plans.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior speech pathologists and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

Education

Master's Degree Speech Therapy required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials

Speech Language Pathologist [State License] required
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology [CCC-A] preferred
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology [CCC-SLP] preferred

Experience

speech pathology experience 3-5 years required
acute hospital experience 3-5 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Familiarity of diagnostic assessments for speech language.
Employee must have strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to incorporate new clinical procedures sufficiently to perform clinical services independently.
Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology and speech-language pathology scope of practice.
Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations.
