This rewarding opportunity will see you join the Mater Hospital in North Sydney as a Nurse Unit Manager on a full-time basis in our large Orthopaedics/Rehab Department, working closely alongside an existing Nurse Unit Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the unit, including staffing, scheduling and budgeting.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with patients, families and healthcare providers.
  • Providing leadership, mentorship and support to nursing staff.
  • Conduct Performance Appraisal.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience in specialty.
  • Post graduate qualification in clinical nursing or management or working towards.

  • Strong commitment to providing excellent clinical care.
  • Commitment to continued professional development.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical knowledge in the specific area of practice with a commitment to professional development and clinical teaching.
