About You and This Role

We have a great opportunity for a Senior EH&S Expertise Improvement Manager to join our team! The role can be based in any of the following locations: Terneuzen (Netherlands), Boehlen (Germany), Houston (TX, United States), Midland (MI, United States), Schkopau (Germany), Seneffe (Belgium), Stade (Germany), Tarragona (Spain).

In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end solution strategy, roadmap, design, and delivery for initiatives related to the Product Safety business process within the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability function (EHS&S).  Aligning through Diamond Systems Solutions (DSS) and working closely with the Product Safety Expertise Center and Dow IT, you will drive the delivery of integrated solutions that meet business/function needs and align with functional strategy & stakeholder requirements. You will provide governance and ownership of end-to-end processes and solutions, identifying KPIs to track effectiveness, adoption, & compliance, and approving deviations or exceptions. You should expect to work independently, with guidance only in the most complex situations.

In this strategic role, you will require specialized, in-depth knowledge and advanced expertise in Product Safety. You will need to analyze and identify internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices to drive digital roadmap development & execution and improve EHS&S products, processes, or services. This role also includes co-leadership of an evolving strategy to define and align digital roadmaps across all EHS&S sub-functions. With a strong focus on data in this role, leadership of Data Excellence and the implementation/adoption of the Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) Hub & Spoke model for EHS&S is also in scope.

You will be expected to communicate difficult concepts to all levels of the organization concisely and effectively. You will use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement to identify root causes and innovative solutions. Demonstrating influential leadership skills, you will provide leadership as a Business Process Project Lead (BPPL) and lead cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and manage change. You will also lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Your performance impacts the EHS&S function and Dow businesses by identifying and leading improvement opportunities to driving capability delivery supporting Dow's digital transformation.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience.
  • A minimum requirement for a U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
  • Strong SAP skills: SAP ECC, S4/HANA (Specification Management, Product/Marketability Compliance, Product Safety data structure)

 

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree emphasis in Sustainability, Chemistry, and/or Computer Science
  • Knowledge of Global Trade Services (Compliance, Customs, & Risk Management), Chemical Control Laws (CCL)/Chemical Control Regulations (CCR), REACH Regulations, Substance Volume Tracking (SVT), Poison Center Notification (PCN)
  • Knowledge of the EU regulatory environment, specifically for Product Safety & Sustainability
  • Knowledge of emerging requirements for Digital Product Passport
  • Ability to represent Dow through external engagement in industry forums and with strategic vendors
  • ADKAR Change Management Certification is preferred upon entering the role, but is an expected requirement within one year of onboarding
  • Excel in communication, collaboration & networking skills
  • Prior experience in leading others to solve complex or unique problems
  • Prior project or program management experience utilizing Waterfall or Agile solution delivery methodologies

 

Additional Notes

  • This position does not offer relocation assistance.
  • This position may travel up to 10-15% of the time.
  • Design Your Day/ Hybrid: The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach, allowing employees flexibility by choosing when to work remotely and when to work on-site based on engagement requirements of the role and stakeholders.
