INTRO:

Are you interested in passing the CTFL certification exam successfully? Do you want to master the testing techniques that can help you boost your score? This GEN Academy - Testing course will help you understand everything from the problematics of test management to the basics of testing concepts — so you feel confident when go to your CTFL exam.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The course deals with the issue of software application testing according to the definitions of the ISTQB organization (International Software Testing Qualification Board). The course aims to prepare students to successfully pass the CTFL (Certified Tester Foundation Level) certification exam. The ISTQB Certified Tester program is recognized and used in more than 120 countries worldwide as a standard software testing qualification system.

Participants will gain knowledge of internationally used testing terms, different types of individual tests, and find out how testing works in practice. They will get acquainted with the testing life cycle and its dependence on agile or iterative software development processes. They will also learn how to organize and manage testing in each phase of software development. Finally, the general principles of testing management and supporting tools for manual or automated testing will be presented.

As a special bonus, participants will get a chance to learn how IT interviews work and how to be perfectly prepared for one.

The course is concluded with a certification exam provided by an independent certification authority (according to ISTQB rules). It will be a paper-based exam (in Czech or English) with multiple choice answers. It contains 40 questions and lasts 60 or 75 minutes (depending on the choice of the language of the test). The course is taught in Czech, but all study materials are in English, so it is recommended to choose the English version of the test. To pass the exam, it is necessary to receive a minimum score of 65%. The validity of the CTFL certificate is unlimited. Certification fees are fully paid by GEN.

PREREQUISITES:

The course is designed for junior testers who want to increase their qualifications, or alternatively, for advanced beginners who have previously completed at least one different testing course.

You also need to master the basics of English at B2 level.

All you need is the desire to learn, come to the in-person lessons, and do your homework. At least an 80% attendance is required to complete the course.

The final exam is very demanding, and to pass it successfully, you’ll need to study outside the lessons (we recommend 3 hours per week). Self-study consists of going through extensive test documentation and trial tests. Within nine weeks, we will pass on our knowledge from practice to preparing you to pass the exam.

This course will not make you an expert, but it will give you a stepping stone to further your professional growth.
