A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR OF ENDOSCOPY TECHNICIAN EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
As an experienced Endoscopy Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the physician with all endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGD), ERCP, flexible sigmoidoscopies, and EUS.
- Ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of all endoscopes and completion of all documentation logs and records.
- Assisting the RN with patient care, such as the admission of patients, setting up rooms, transporting patients, patient recovery and final cleaning of rooms.
The hours of this full-time Endoscopy Technician position are primarily five 8-hour shifts, 7am-3:30pm, with evening and weekend on-call requirements.

Job Details
- Assists nurses and physicians in all aspects of GI procedures. This includes assistance with the stocking of all rooms with equipment and supplies, and maintaining proper procedures for the cleaning and storage of endoscopes.
- Changes chemical sterilants and cleans scope washer according to policy.
- Assesses endoscopes on a daily basis and reports any damage to director.
- Prepares and sends out scopes for repair after notifying director.
- Assists in the orientation of new personnel to all in room procedures and to the process for cleaning and disinfection of scopes.
- Performs clerical duties if needed in the absence of the scheduler.
- Transports specimens according to policy using universal precautions.
- Makes pre-op calls to patient to obtain preliminary information.
- Identifies opportunities for cost savings and makes full use of existing resources.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMT) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).

Work Experience:
- One year minimum experience in a hospital setting.
