Job Description​

The Opportunity: 

Saint Luke’s Community Hospital in Leawood, Kansas is seeking an Inpatient PRN Registered Nurse to join our team. As an Medical Surgical Intermediate inpatient RN on this team, you will have the opportunity to triage and perform ongoing assessments and provide direct patient care to a variety of acuity levels and conditions. In this environment you will be the lead RN in the department. 

 

Shift Details: PRN Nights/Days: PRN Plus- must work a minimum of 3 shifts within a 6 week period (with at least 1 shift being a weekend). 1 minor holiday throughout the year required.

 

The Work: 

  •  Performs primary nursing functions of assessing, planning, directing, performing and evaluating patient care in the Inpatient/Telemetry Unit  
  • Serves as a professional role model by collaborating with clinical and front office staff, administration and other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care is delivered to optimal patient outcomes 
  • Demonstrate ability to mange care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state.
  • Appropriately triage patient and prioritizes needs, displaying a caring and responsive attitude.
  • Initiate care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
  • Collect detailed patient history and symptoms, including vital signs, providing appropriate care in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established polices and procedures.
  • Report adverse treatments or medications in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Prepare patient meals.
  • Participates in QAPI activities including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards.
