We are seeking a experienced Project Manager to lead the launch of an innovative AI-powered phone set to release in Japan in late 2025. This position requires a fluent Japanese/English bilingual professional with strong experience managing complex projects within the mobile technology space.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end project management of the AI phone launch, coordinating between key stakeholders, including our internal teams and two external partners.
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from manufacturing to market release, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage OS and app development initiatives, ensuring technical requirements are met.
  • Facilitate seamless communication between teams based in the U.S. and Japan.
  • Regularly update executive leadership on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Plan and execute travel between the U.S. and Japan for critical in-person meetings, up to twice per month.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in both Japanese and English (written and verbal).
  • Proven track record of managing the successful launch of mobile devices or related hardware.
  • Experience in managing operating system development or app development projects.
  • Familiarity with managing cross-functional teams across different geographies.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to work in-office at our San Mateo, CA location and travel to Japan as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with Japanese telecom or technology companies.
  • Deep understanding of the Japanese mobile market and consumer preferences.
  • Experience in delivering a product from the manufacturing stage to market release.
