JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is seeking a Manager, Product Quality who will be responsible for ONEOK’s crude oil quality control program. This position will manage all crude oil quality oversight, which includes development and implementation of quality control strategies, compliance oversight, and management of product contamination events. An emphasis on collaboration, creativity and providing excellent customer service is desired.

This position will be at the Manager level focusing on candidates with college degree and/or 6-10 years of experience. It will provide an individual with the opportunity to manage an integral part of ONEOK’s crude oil business in a fast paced yet exciting environment. The ideal candidate should be willing to adapt to a flexible schedule incorporating some evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

This role is hybrid:
Office - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
Remote - Wednesday and Friday

Job Profile Summary

Develops and implements quality control strategies, ensures product integrity, assesses potential risk, ensures compliance, and gives recommendations to minimize the potential for product contamination events.  Ensures that field-generated data is accurate and complete, reviews data, and analyzes trends.  Develops blending plans.  Facilitates audits and regulatory inspections.  Aligns and communicates team goals and objectives. 

Researches, evaluates, and recommends investments in technology, equipment, and systems or other assets that will enhance the quality control program. Ensures an environment of continuous improvement in the organization's systems, processes, operating procedures, workflows in order to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.   

Provides leadership and manages or directs subordinate managers/supervisors/high level individual contributors within span of control; coordinates department activities and assignments; ensures quality of the assigned groups' work; evaluates department processes and recommends and coordinates needed changes based on process analysis; makes decisions, solves problems; develops procedures, conducts meetings, manages employee hiring process, provides information to Human Resources regarding job analysis; manages team performance; trains or provides for adequate training for subordinate supervisors; coaches, counsels, and motivates employees; addresses complaints or performance concerns; communicates job and performance expectations; implements corrective action as needed and in consultation with Human Resources; creates an ethical, non-discriminatory, and safe work environment; ensures compliance with Company policies; establishes effective communication lines/methods; manages conflict; accepts resignations; approves paid time off (PTO) and overtime (if applicable) and reviews and approves time sheets; completes mid-year and annual performance appraisals with employees and provides periodic performance feedback throughout the year as needed. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Product Quality Incident Management & Mitigation 

  • Assesses the impact of off-specification conditions. 

  • Communicates incident status to impacted internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Manages the Quality Control Emergency Response process per established guidelines. 

  • When not clearly defined by established guidelines, recommends incident investigations. 

  • Compiles data and/or prepares detailed report(s) documenting process, product quality deficiencies, and/or origin-related quality issues and action items to resolve or correct the deficiencies or issues. 

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to mitigate and remediate product quality and process deficiencies.  

Quality Control Processes & Procedures 

  • Reviews and approves site-specific quality control processes and procedures. 

  • Reviews and approves projects that increase the number of test methods performed. 

  • Evaluates field-generated data and seeks opportunities to leverage existing technologies. 

  • Reviews quality control data to evaluate quality control processes and procedures. 

Origin Quality Control 

  • Executes origin oversight programs. 

  • Documents and communicates exceptions to stakeholders. 

Compliance 

  • Develops and executes audit programs. 

  • Facilitates audits and regulatory inspections. 

  • Ensures compliance with all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state regulations. 

  • Ensures American Section of the International Association for Testing Materials (ASTM) compliance. 

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure that quality control processes and procedures used in the laboratory are ASTM compliant. 

  • Ensures System Integrity Plan (SIP) compliance for area(s) of responsibility. 

Commercial Projects 

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop and implement commercial project plans. 

  • Analyzes and provides product quality and process data, considerations, and resolutions to quality obstacles and issues. 

  • Identifies opportunities to contribute value to the organization based on product quality margin for area of responsibility.     

Data Analytics 

  • Creates and maintains a database for the efficient, proactive use of data collected via field and laboratory testing methods.  

  • Understanding key performance indicators (KPIs) articulates current performance and opportunities to internal stakeholders.  

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or Chemistry preferred  

Work Experience

  • 6 - 10 years related work experience preferred
