Position Summary
We're seeking an SRE/DevOps Engineer to support our Cloud Engineering SmartThings team in maintaining the reliability, scalability, and performance of our critical systems. You’ll collaborate with development teams to implement solutions that enable seamless customer experiences, while supporting high-volume systems processing terabytes of data daily.Role and Responsibilities
Enable developers to operate highly available, scalable, and cost-optimized applications
Drive reliability improvements for managed services and infrastructure
Collaborate with development teams to integrate best practices into SDLC
Support junior engineers through knowledge sharing (light mentorship
Implement industry-standard tools to address evolving needs of internal/external stakeholders
Apply DevOps/SRE principles (e.g., SLOs, automation-first)
Manage cloud infrastructure, deployments, and release operations
Evaluate/adopt new technologies to improve infrastructure efficiency
Participate in system design, capacity planning, and platform management
Maintain operational documentation (architecture, troubleshooting)
Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations
Skills and Qualifications
5+ years in SRE/DevOps roles
Hands-on experience with AWS and cross-cloud (Azure/GCP) fundamentals
Practical experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and service mesh (Istio)
Proficiency with Linux system administration, networking and security
Working knowledge of IaC (Terraform/Ansible) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
Experience with observability tools (Prometheus/Grafana/OpenTelemetry)
Scripting skills (Python/Bash) for automation
Ability to communicate technical concepts across teams
The salary range for this role is expected to be between $86,105 to $128,150 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience.
