The Engineering Associate will be responsible for supporting process research and commercialization of technologies that enable new product development, operational excellence via margin improvement, and Optimizing Corn Wet Milling process agenda.  The position will be leading or supporting projects across multiple business segments.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Performing lab and pilot plant experiments to support New Product Development or Process Innovation projects
  • Driving investigation into new process technologies
  • Making recommendations for commercializing new technologies supported by experimental data
  • Scanning open literature for emerging technologies related to the field
  • Collaborating effectively with manufacturing personnel and cross-functional teams to commercialize new products/processes, as well as troubleshoot and optimize processes
  • Leading scale-up trials at manufacturing locations
  • Preparing and maintaining updated task level project plans. Actively participating in project team meetings, and providing status updates including project plans and milestones
  • Writing reports and effectively communicating results to the project team and stakeholders
  • Analyzing production data to identify root cause for process failure
  • Operating laboratory equipment safely and with little direct supervision to support project needs
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Following guidelines set-up for good housekeeping, GMPs, and safety

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Advanced degree and relevant industry experience in Chemical, Food or other water and energy intensive industries. Bachelor's degree with significant experience also considered.
  • Experience/and proven track record of implementing new technologies in Corn Wet Milling processing
  • Expertise in the food processing, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industry with emphasis on scale-up from pilot to manufacturing
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Flexibility to handle and manage both long-term development projects and short-term troubleshooting needs
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships with leadership of business units, R&D, Technical Service, Manufacturing, and Regulatory groups to drive delivery on projects
  • Digital awareness and analytics understanding
  • Demonstrated innovative, strategic, and operational thinking, with an ability to adapt to emerging trends
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to convey information in a clear, focused, and concise manner
  • Demonstrated willingness to develop listening and influencing skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen and ability to translate into operations strategy
  • Willingness for overnight travel (25-30%)

Pay Range:

$98,800.00-$131,733.33 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
