The Opportunity
Plans and/or controls inventory of finished goods for sales warehouses, distribution centers, and factory mixing points to meet sales and distribution demand. Analyzes inventory levels, inventory positioning, and planned production and sales forecasts. Develops and maintains inputs to inventory system, including network changes, lead-times, cost and delivery expectations, past and future promotional events, and new product introductions. Coordinates with traffic, production planning, and warehouse personnel to ensure appropriate routing, scheduling, and storing of goods. An Expert Professional (P5) is a recognized master in professional discipline typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Typically responsible for: Establishing operational plans for job area. Developing and implementing new products, processes, standards or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results. Requires communication with leadership.
How you’ll make an impact
- Owner of the site supply planning process. Provides visibility of supply capacity and local supply objectives into the Hub overall planning process. Provides feedback into S&OP process of site’s ability to support the demand plan.
- Implements the deployment and improvement of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and inventory management best practice processes in line with Hub objectives and instructions. Develops and leads end-to-end process optimization, to reduce overall lead-times, reduce inventory incl. sales in excess of invoicing, and customer on-time delivery, improve fulfillment and value chain visibility.
- Take ownership of the short-term planning process or S&OE process, connecting planning with execution. Coordinate an appropriate response to unplanned events. Support the profitable execution of customer orders, in coordination with project management, engineering, manufacturing and procurement. Supports the local detailed Operations/Production Planners and Material Planners to achieve the objectives of the OU.
- Coaches and trains the OU in development and deployment of tactical resource planning and/or capacity planning to establish optimum resource levels and capacity with the right skill and at the optimum cost location for the medium term horizon. Is responsible for driving OU to maximize customer OTD while minimizing under and over absorption and the related operations cost.
- Ensures that production scheduling and production plan meets the volume requirements agreed in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels.
- Develops, communicates and implements planning strategies to overcome challenges and roadblocks which are aligned with the business strategy. Coordinates with other functions such as Procurement and Logistics, Finance and Sales and Marketing. Identify opportunities where planning can contribute value to other functions and look for processes within other functions that can improve performance of planning function.
- Performs standard and ad hoc detailed analyses for planning metrics (COTD, lead-time, forecast accuracy, resource capacity, material inventory). Identifies key root causes for non-performance and drives improvement initiatives for the OU.
- Supports the local implementation of planning technology solutions, including global/Hub methodology for planning in ERP (SAP) and other tools.
- Has overall knowledge on capacity and capacity constraints for all product lines in the OU, contributes to making recommendations, both short- and long-term solutions and mitigation plan to anticipate and remove bottlenecks.

Your background
- Candidate should hold a degree in Bachelor’s / Master’s in engineering with relevant work experience.
