Summary of Job Duties:

The Medical Business Office Manager plays a crucial role in the operations and administration of the Family Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. As the Business Office Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing access and scheduling staff, performing functions in human resources, payroll, purchasing, process improvement, planning, record maintenance, policy administration and compliance, and general accounting.


Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus three (3) years of experience in a clinical environment and three (3) years of supervisory experience OR High school diploma/ GED or equivalent plus seven (7) years of clinical environment experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.

  • Organizational Skills: The Business Office Manager must possess exceptional organizational skills to ensure efficient management of administrative tasks and workflows.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication is essential in this role, as you will be interacting with staff members, patients, and vendors. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Problem-Solving: The Business Office Manager must be able to analyze issues, develop effective solutions, and implement them in a timely manner.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The position requires strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff members and build relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial in the medical industry, especially when handling financial records and patient data.
  • Time Management: The Business Office Manager must be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: The Business Office Manager must be able to analyze issues, develop effective solutions, and implement them in a timely manner.
  • Medical Terminology Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial in this role, as it enables effective communication and understanding of medical processes, including billing and coding knowledge.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health records systems, and other relevant software is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field Preferred.
  • Business Administration Experience Preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs financial management duties, including annual budget,  running monthly staffing reports, variance reports, and assisting with effort and allocation changes in workday
  • Assists in developing or revising policies, procedures, and directives based on needs of department. Assists in long-range planning for department and implementation of new initiatives and changes
  • Participates in and oversees administrative functions, including creating and maintaining accurate records and reports, preparing and disseminating correspondence, and  assisting with payroll functions.
  • Assists with project management by preparing project reports, processing invoices, preparing budgets, making recommendations regarding quality improvement, and collaborating with others
  • Supervises the work of assigned personnel, including assigning, reviewing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations. Assigned work includes oversight of all front office processes, call center operation processes and back office functions.
  • Attends meetings and training opportunities for professional growth and development
  • Performs other duties as assigned
