Job Summary:

Under the management of the Vice President, Medical Imaging Diagnostics & Support Services for the System; the Executive Director of Nutrition and Food Service & Environmental Services provides system support and strategic alignment for all facilities within the organization. Including but not limited to the acute care facilities, and any regulatory requirements within those environments, they will partner with the sites to ensure that all sites are standardized and have adequate support to manage all the needs of the NFS and EVS departments. This position has direct line responsibility for the EVS and NFS team members that work in our corporate office buildings which includes our bistro operations, catering and office building cleaning.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Operations:
- Oversight of management of the daily operations within the corporate offices, including all EVS and NFS services for the health system.
- Demonstrates skillful leadership, coaching and mentoring or direct reports, timely and appropriate conflict resolution, high employee engagement, effective timely communication, and timely decision making.
- Strong customer service focus and operates with a positive can-do philosophy
- Develops partnerships, coordinates services, reviews work, exchanges information and resolve problems independently.
- Responsible for overseeing multiple and interdependent projects.
- Develops long- and short- range goals and plans, program evaluation, and budget preparation and ensures the services and programs provided by the department achieve high quality standards.
- Participates as a subject matter expert and may lead/facilitate task forces, committees or councils to plan, implement, and coordinate activities for the organization.
- Skilled in the complete range of strategic sourcing activities including analysis of spend formulation and implementation of operational efficiencies. Leadership:
- Collaboration and coordination of all EVS and NFS offered within all care sites. Including standardized processes and protocols for all sites.
- Skilled in relationship development and collaboration across multidisciplinary departments and areas of responsibility.
- Develops goals and objectives in alignment with the health system's mission and values.
- Exhibits a servant leadership style working closely with front-line team members.
- Ability to manage the financial and capital resources of the department/service groupings.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to convert ambiguity to solid direction, flexibility and adaptability in dealing with changing priorities.
- Coach and mentor to others.
- Manages all areas of process improvement for a more efficient workplace utilizing lean or other methodologies.
- Ensures strong alignment with the team in developing and implementing patient care initiatives.
- Builds and supports effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Finance and Business Results:
- Responsible for productivity and fiscal budget for assigned areas
- Manage and project budget assumptions.
- Work with Supply Chain and any contracted vendors to maintain high quality while controlling all variable expenses related to NFS and EVS.
- Maintains awareness of current financial progress and implement corrective actions (when needed).
- Project and communicate need for capital expenditures
- Lead and support improvement projects using Lean methodology
- Uphold all associated regulatory guidelines.

Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Operations Management or Masters Health Administration-Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 10 years Progressive leadership experience in an healthcare setting, preferred leadership experience over Environmental services or Nutrition and food service Required
    Minimum 5 years Experience in non-clinical operations Preferred
    Healthcare regulatory and accreditation compliance experience. Preferred

    Required Minimum Skills:

    - Performance management skills, financial acumen, strategic planning, communication skills, knowledge of industry standards, leadership and interpersonal skills.
    - Analytical skills to solve technical problems as well as abstract reasoning to define course of actions when information may be vague or unclear.
    - Able to use all Microsoft Office products proficiently, specifically Office, Excel and Power Point. Clear understanding of productivity and expenses management.
    - Excellent communication and presentation skills, knowledge and command of principles of financial analysis, strategic planning, operations, human resources, and IT.
    - Ability to collect and analyze data and other information to develop short- and long-term goals.
    - Ability to work independently; motivates and develops staff.
