Overview:
The Clinical Quality and Performance Director is responsible for ensuring the highest clinical quality standards and overseeing the operations of ABA services within assigned regions. This role emphasizes clinical compliance, quality assurance, and the professional development of the clinical team to ensure industry-leading care. Key responsibilities include developing high-quality clinical practices, auditing clinical protocol implementation, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations, and driving clinical excellence while supporting organizational growth.

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years certified as a BCBA 
  • 3+ years in a leadership position overseeing a multi-site or multi-state operation
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time

Responsibilities:

Clinical Quality and Oversight:

  • Conduct regular audits of clinical operations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with ABA industry standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Develop and implement clinical quality assurance initiatives, including peer review processes, documentation of clinical fidelity, research opportunities, and training programs for clinicians.
  • Collaborate to enhance clinical policies and procedures, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Develop and monitor clinical documentation and charting to meet contractual, ethical, and legal standards.
  • Establish and monitor metrics for clinical performance, including treatment plan efficacy, BCBA and BT procedural & treatment fidelity, maximized utilization of authorizations, and client growth/clinical outcomes. 

Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, including BCBAs and technicians, to ensure high-quality care and professional growth.
  • Facilitate training events and ongoing education to promote clinical excellence and the application of ABA principles.
  • Empower BCBAs to develop and implement treatment plans with minimal leadership oversight, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Build a scalable clinical structure to support organizational growth while maintaining quality standards.
  • Participate in interdepartmental communication and collaboration regarding joint goals including: client attendance, BT attendance, authorization utilization, timeliness of conversion rates, etc.. 




Clinical Services:

  • Oversee client assessments, and evaluations, and direct BCBA services to ensure quality care and adherence to ABA principles.
  • Maintain flexibility to carry abillable caseload based on clinical demand and organizational needs.

Compliance and Regulatory Standards:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of clinical practices to ensure adherence to HIPAA guidelines, contractual obligations, and industry standards.
  • Serve as HIPAA/Privacy Officer, ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations related to protected health information (PHI).
  • Maintain and update compliance policies to align with regulatory changes and organizational goals.
  • Serve as the company’s expert in the clinical requirements of various funders.  

Partnership Development:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to expand clinical partnerships with Regional Centers, school districts, and other external entities.
  • Develop and refine materials to support contract acquisition and ensure favorable clinical terms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders to promote clinical services and drive business growth.
  • Monitor partnership performance and recommend improvements to maximize quality and outcomes.

Position Goals:

  1. Ensure all clinical staff deliver services with minimal leadership intervention while maintaining compliance with industry and organizational standards.
  2. Build a scalable clinical structure to support organizational growth across assigned regions.
  3. Maintain and enhance the quality of care provided while expanding clinical services through strategic partnerships.

 

Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's goals and ensure clinical excellence.
