Communications Manager – Technology & AI

See yourself in our team

Marketing and Corporate Affairs (MCA) brings together marketing, communications, sustainability, community investment and social impact to help tell the story of CommBank and strengthen our reputation.

Within MCA, the Technology Corporate Affairs team helps bring our technology strategy to life through compelling stories, engaging content and impactful communications. We work across some of the most exciting areas of the bank, from AI and engineering to cyber security and digital innovation, showing how technology is helping create better experiences for our customers and communities.

Do work that matters

Technology is transforming how we live, work and bank. AI is creating new opportunities, and we're looking for a curious storyteller who loves turning complex ideas into engaging content that people want to read, watch and share.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of communications, technology and innovation. With broad responsibilities spanning internal and external communications, you'll help uncover and tell stories about the people, products and ideas shaping the future of CommBank.

On any given day, you will:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of external communications that showcase how technology and AI are making a difference for our customers, communities and teams.

  • Support internal communications and employee engagement initiatives that build understanding of our technology strategy, innovation agenda and culture within CBA Technology.

  • Identify and bring to life stories from across our technology teams, creating content in a range of formats and channels, including articles, videos, presentations, social content, key messages and executive communications.

  • Monitor technology, AI and industry trends and provide media, social and stakeholder insights.

  • Manage and publish content on key internal and external communication channels and recommend ways to keep those channels fresh and engaging.

  • Measure, report and track the performance of communications and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Support Crisis Communications Team activities including maintenance of our plans and helping to respond to support our customers and people in moments that matter.

  • Support the effective operations of the Technology Corporate Affairs Team.

We'd love to hear from people who have:

  • 1-5+ years’ experience in communications, corporate affairs, journalism or content creation in an in-house or agency environment.

  • Strong writing, storytelling and content creation skills, with the ability to make complex topics simple, engaging and relatable. Demonstrated ability to create engaging content across multiple channels and formats for a range of different audiences.

  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills and the confidence to work with and collaborate with a range of teams and leaders.

  • Experience or a strong interest in technology, digital innovation and AI and confident using AI tools, data and insights to drive better comms outcomes.

  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

  • A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, communications, journalism or a related discipline.

  • If this sounds like your next career opportunity, please apply now!
