What You Will Do:

Data Engineer will be part of a data analytics team supporting a large Intelligence Community Agency with data process improvement, data management, and creating performance metrics and business intelligence for business optimization. Data Engineer role with help to develop data optimization tools that improve safety of navigation product workflow, analysis of geospatial data, or speed of data insight. Role is also responsible for helping maintain and enhance GEOINT product metrics data pipeline using authoritative sources and applying ML techniques.

What You Will Need:

  • ACTIVE and CURRENT Top Secret/ SCI federal security clearance with COUNTERINTELLIGENCE (CI) polygraph

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • FIVE (5) or more years of experience using Python;

  • TWO (2) or more years of experience working with data quality control tools including ArcGIS Data Re Viewer

  • Experience with other programming languages such as SQL, JavaScript

  • Knowledge in data science, including the areas of data services, modeling, and analytics

  • Knowledge of geospatial data management

  • Experience with ESRI Workflow Manager WMX and TAM

  • Experience with advisement and development of business intelligence (BI) enhancements using Tableau Desktop


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience with combining digital cartography, computer technology, GIS, cartographic and geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and digital data formats

  • Ability to clean / prune data to discard irrelevant information

  • Ability to examine data from a variety of angles to determine hidden value, weaknesses, trends, and /or opportunities

  • Advanced knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and ArcServer

  • Knowledge of database systems and architecture (ORACLE, PostgresSQL, NoSQL (MongoDB), Microsoft Access)

  • Ability writing SQL and NoSQL

  • Understanding of unstructured data techniques

  • Understanding cloud architecture, infrastructure, services (including specific microservices), and DevOps Knowledge

  • Experience with sprint cycles and Agile methodologies

  • Understanding of strategic planning and development of requirements for cloud architectures to support performance measures reporting; Collaborate with CIO-T and other NGA stakeholders to determine strategy for implementation

  • Ability to work with data analytics, data scientists, imagery analysts, geospatial analysts to understand varying data process needs

  • Ability to create KPIs and understand how to use metrics to address client needs
