The Opportunity
This position is based in Mississauga. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, Abbott’s CRM Business focuses on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats. This role ensures manages financial planning and analysis activities to identify risks and opportunities and contribute to the achievement of the organization's short and long-term financial goals. You will also identify risks, assesses assumptions, and proposes recommendations and solutions to issues.
What You’ll Do
Manage and supervise the preparation of plans (LBE, LRP, Entity Plans etc.) for both P&L and Balance Sheet.
Manage the most complex, large, or difficult analysis projects, evaluate findings, prepare reports and make
recommendations to senior management about the financial implications of proposed investments and transactions.
Contribute to the development of financial strategies for a division or operating unit that align with the organization's
Prepare LBE presentation decks. Gather inputs from commercial teams, prepare financial slides and back-ups.
Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of financial professionals to ensure financial planning and analysis projects are
conducted credibly and that recommendations and reports are accurate and timely.
Review and challenge the demand forecast and ensure reasonableness and alignment with commercial strategies.
Manage the month end closing process. Ensure timely completion of all journal entries, account reconciliations and month end reports.
Prepare monthly performance reports (Balance Sheet, P&L’s). Explain performance variances vs benchmarks (Plan, LBE and Prior Year).
Prepare and monitor spending budgets including SG&A, Freight and Distribution, Warranties etc.
Prepare and submit weekly Sales and P&L flash reports for area.
Review and approve invoices for payment.
Provide finance support to commercial teams (e.g. cost benefit analyses, finance procedures guidance etc.)
Prepare and regularly update all financial SOPs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required. CPA designation will be considered an asset.
7+ years of previous experience in a similar role.
Revenue Recognition experience.
Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Hlookup, etc.) and financial applications i.e., SAP, Business Objects.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timelines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Excellent English communications skills, French would be considered an asset.
Receptive to change and a team player.
Ability to prioritize and to meet strict deadline requirements.
