The Global Portfolio Marketer creates a product strategy for growth aligned with company goals. They also focus on the development, launch, and success of a specific product line, ensuring to meets its objectives, timeline, and budget.

Growth strategy

  • Understands product sales patterns globally, identifies gaps and opportunities, to create options for strategic growth, pricing and New Product Innovation (NPI) and sustainable projects
  • Leads market expansion and innovation projects prioritized as part of the portfolio growth plan
  • Partners with customer marketing to ensure effective outbound marketing campaigns and programs specifically for the product line
  • Creates product pricing strategies (price corridor and expected global margin)

Customer needs and value proposition

  • Understands global market trends and insights, product sales patterns globally, and initiates against opportunities to be addressed
  • Develops superior understanding of customer needs, competitor offerings and market opportunity to create clear business cases

Develops competitive analysis resources

  • Defines clear value proposition for portfolio product line
  • Engages with region marketing leaders to understand regional differences in market and customer’s needs, partners with regions to ensure consistent global input and execution

Executes launch planning

  • Commercial lead for NPI projects (VOC, launch strategy, value proposition, timing, business case) as identified by portfolio strategy
  • Develops product launch plans for new products aligned to product and customer marketing strategies
  • Directs the creation of collateral, sales support and training strategy for global launch
  • Communicates with portfolio team on identified issues, roadblocks, changes to plan, and required support

Experience:

  • Degree in Scientific or Marketing discipline such as Biotechnology/Food Chemistry/ Microbiology, Marketing
  • 3-5 years work experience in product marketing, product management, NPI or similar role
  • Ability to identify and understand customer needs and translate into strategic plans
  • Great knowledge of customers, markets, industries & products
  • Strong business mind with great attention to detail
  • Experience presenting business cases and market analysis to senior leaders to gain organizational support
  • Team player, flexible and supportive, effective communicator and proactive problem solver
