As our Assistant Development Accountant, you’ll play an integral role in maintaining job cost integrity, managing subcontract and purchase orders, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and supporting the financial heartbeat of our development portfolio. Your work will empower the Development team with reliable reporting, insightful analysis, and strong financial controls.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
Development Payments & Cost Control
Set up and maintain subcontract orders and purchase orders.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense claims and credit card transactions.
Process building and construction claims with precision.
Assist in preparing funding requests for active projects.
Development Reporting & Analysis
Partner with Development Analysts and Finance Managers to produce accurate, up to date job cost reports.
Monitor development expenditure trends and highlight risks or opportunities.
Serve as the go to support for JDE related queries across the Development team.
Financial Accounting & Assurance
Complete project accruals and reconciliations.
Prepare accurate financial information for internal and external audit reviews.
Collaborate closely with reporting, finance operations, and development leadership to ensure financial transparency across all projects.
🤝 Key Relationships
You’ll work closely with:
Development Finance Managers & Analysts — ensuring job costs reflect current commitments.
External Reporting & Financial Operations — supporting capital reporting, balance sheet accuracy, and funding activity.
Development Managers & Project Teams — assisting with feasibilities, payments, and project performance tracking.
Internal & External Auditors — providing data and analysis that support audit processes.
IJVM Team — collaborating on development information and ad hoc financial tasks.
💡 What You’ll Bring
Essential Experience
Proven experience raising purchase orders.
Handson experience processing invoices, including construction claims.
Solid understanding of financial and management accounting processes.
Knowledge That Sets You Apart
Experience with ERP systems such as JDE is highly desirable.
Capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
