At Northrop Grumman, our employees have incredible opportunities to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world today, and for generations to come. Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Principal Loads Engineer specializing in one of three areas Aircraft Loads, Aircraft Dynamics: Aeroelastics, and Aircraft Dynamics: Vibroacoustics to support an advanced development program within our Vehicle Engineering team in Melbourne, FL.

CURRENT CLEARANCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED. Clearance will be required prior to start of employment.

This position description does not represent a current opening but may be used to identify candidates with skills and experience for positions within Northrop Grumman that frequently become available. Candidates who express an interest may be considered for future positions at Northrop Grumman.

Depending on the specialization, the team member will be expected to perform a subset of the following analyses: flight loads, ground loads, gust response, flutter, aeroservoelastic responses, sonic fatigue analysis, and support equipment shock and vibration qualification.  In addition, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and will be proactive, forward-thinking, able to work with a small team to rapid resolution of complex technical loads problems and can convey complex technical problems diplomatically and professionally to both other engineering disciplines and leadership.  The candidate will be able to work well in a team environment and form connections across the myriad of disciplines:  including, but not limited to, flight controls, mass properties, stress, and mechanism teams.  The ideal candidate would have experience working in the advanced development world and would understand the depth of analysis this environment requires.
