As a Finance & Accounting Associate, you are the backbone of our local financial operations, ensuring that daily processes from invoice management to bank transfers run smoothly and accurately. You serve as a vital link between our local operations and our central accounting departments by maintaining high data quality and transparent reporting, you provide the foundation for informed business decisions and ensure full compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements.
This role is designed for growth: We are looking for a candidate who is eager to master operational finance while preparing for the next step. Our goal is to provide you with the mentorship and practical experience necessary to transition into a Financial Controller role within 2–3 years, where you will take on increased responsibility for strategic planning and advanced financial analysis.
- Financial Operations
- execute bank transfers (urgent, tax, and social contributions)
- monitor daily bank statements for HUF and EUR accounts
- manage the cash book and oversee petty cash documentation and liquidity
- Invoice & Workflow Management
- own the full accounts payable cycle: validation, system upload and approval tracking
- act as the primary interface for central accounting teams to ensure document flow
- handle the dunning process, including payment notices and bi-weekly reporting
- Tax & Compliance and Audit
- liaison for tax consultants and authorities; prepare VAT lists and audit documentation
- ensure compliance with Hungarian regulations and support month-end/year-end closings (local GAAP/IFRS)
- Controlling & Reporting
- support budget versus actual comparisons, variance analysis and KPI generation
- assist in digitalization processes and referring reporting tools (Excel/BI)
- supporting local planning by gathering data for budgets and forecasting
- identify workflow bottlenecks and help implement group-wide financial standards
- optimizing processes and resource allocations while identifying cost-saving opportunities
Criteria’s
- Experience: initial experience in accounting, finance role - ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Education: degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is a plus
- Technical Skills:
- accounting knowledge: solid understanding of accounting principles, including IFRS and VAT regulations
- software proficiency:
strong command of MS Office (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling) and
experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) is preferred - languages:
fluency in Hungarian and English (written and spoken) is required, German language skills are of advantage
