We are seeking an experienced Motor Assessing Manager to join our Motor Assessing team in Welshpool. Reporting to the Motor Assessing Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily motor assessing operations and repair management practices of assigned region and team. This includes coaching and developing the team to deliver a quality member experience through professional and efficient service, while meeting cost targets and achieving effective and efficient repair management practices. 

 

This opportunity is a permanent, full-time role, based in our Assessment Centre in Welshpool. 

 

The role: 

  • Ensure consistent and effective solutions to members throughout the motor claims lifecycle and repair management 

  • Coordinate workload distribution of motor assessing operations 

  • Ensure member complaints are managed in line with dispute resolution and complaints handling procedures including escalated, technical or complex claims 

  • Assess, develop and implement initiatives to deliver continuous improvements  

  • Coach and develop team members to ensure reliable and consistent claims management processes are delivered 

  • Identify skills and knowledge gaps and coordinate appropriate learning and development solutions  

  • Support the Motor Assessing Operations Manager with implementing associated initiatives aligned to the business strategy 

  • Commitment to putting members at the centre of everything you do 

About you: 

  • Qualification in Automotive Body Repair Technology (panel beating/spray painting) or Automotive Mechanical Technology mandatory 
  • Experience within the Motor Vehicle Assessing Industry 
  • Experience in motor insurance claims handling and motor repair assessment  
  • Experience in technical motor vehicle repair processes 
  • Experience in managing a team in vehicle loss assessment  
  • Demonstrates empathy, compassion, resilience, discretion, and confidentiality when dealing with employees or members  
  • Ability to influence relationships with a variety of stakeholders  
  • Proven qualitative assessment and negotiation skills 
  • Certificate IV in General Insurance or equivalent highly desirable. 
  • I-Car platinum status desirable.
