Summer 2025 Work Term

Term Length: 4 months

Term Start: May 5, 2025

Term End: August 22, 2025
 

As of October 15, 2024 Loblaw has adopted the following Hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues will continue working remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).

The primary responsibilities of the BT co-op student are to support the Loblaw Brands BT team in system enhancements, testing, data quality, reporting, and analytics initiatives. The BT team supports the Loblaw Brands Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) program that creates thousands of innovative Loblaw Branded products each year. You should enjoy working in teams, have excellent communication, analytical critical thinking, and data management skills. You are highly professional while thriving in a fast-paced environment.

This position provides an ideal summer employment experience for a student looking to improve their data, information systems and analytical skills.

Performance Measures

-   Strong attention to detail with great problem-solving and analytical skills

-   Curiosity and willingness to ask questions that help solve problems

-   Accountable to ensure data accuracy and quality

-   Comfort with programming languages and Microsoft programs such as python, visual basic, power inquiry, Power BI etc.

-   Create seamless communication, documentation, and knowledge transfer between work streams

-   Comfortable in talking across multiple levels of leaderships and departments across Loblaw

-   A team player and self- starter

-   Knows how to handle large amount of data 

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with relationship mapping for data migration between systems, enhancing analytical skills and enabling the business to migrate the documents correctly to the corresponding products and vendors.

  • Vendor and other product information data cleansing – including excel file management, SAP and other systems used by the teams we support

  • Report creation and analysis of information, including PowerBI report generation

  • Collaborating with multiple teams to create training and learning material that will be shared in PowerPoint presentations or SharePoint

Measure of success will be confirmed when the student has completed the above assignments.
