Pay: $ 26.47 hr. 

 

JOB SUMMARY:  

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordinating the daily responsibilities of the department and ensuring they are completed accurately and on time. The role requires effective communication of management’s instructions to all team members on the assigned shift. The individual must be a motivated self‑starter with the ability to problem‑solve and work collaboratively with multiple departments to reach shared solutions. This position is also accountable for the operation, oversight, and compliance of quality and inventory functions while maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing JMS policies and procedures. Responsibilities include performing physical and visual inspections of product and systems, as well as managing daily quality and inventory activities within the Distribution Center. Duties include accurately documenting and calculating results, taking corrective action when necessary (such as notifying appropriate personnel, identifying and isolating non‑conforming product), and reporting results to management. The role also ensures consistent product handling throughout the facility through inventory counts, auditing product for accuracy, quality, and potential damage, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Additionally, the position is responsible for reconciling inventory discrepancies and alerting leadership to irregularities or potential operational roadblocks. Further responsibilities include identifying, segregating, and monitoring quality holds once communicated to the Distribution Center, as well as quality and inventory discrepancy issues. Routine reporting includes daily and weekly deliverables for ICQA Supervisors, such as the end of shift reporting, DC error log, rework man‑hour reporting, GREF zone issues, and cycle count metrics. Additional assignments may be assigned as needed. All team members are responsible for safety—this includes, but is not limited to, adhering to personal safety practices and maintaining food‑safety standards. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and assist all ICQA personnel with daily tasks.  

  • Complete daily log sheets, communicate effectively, and proactively recognize and report quality and inventory concerns.  

  • Actively support daily DC operations to ensure maximum efficiency, product quality, capacity, and accuracy.  

  • Examine product contents and compare them with records (manifests, orders, etc.) to verify accuracy.  

  • Support and adhere to all company personnel and food safety programs, policies, procedures, and inventory standards.  

  • Follow all company safety, food safety, attendance, and GMP policies.  

  • Fill in for absent team members as needed.  

  • Assist the Supervisor in all areas of departmental operations.  

  • Confer and correspond with facility representatives to resolve issues related to damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.  

  • Perform cycle counts of physical inventory, monitor active inventory concerns, and report discrepancies to the Supervisor.  

  • Ensure proper, efficient, and accurate application of all company procedures related to quality and inventory management.  

  • Prepare, review, analyze, and present reports to help identify trends or potential issues in quality and inventory performance.  

  • Assist in training assigned associates.  

  • Operate a forklift safely and promote a safe, compliant work environment.  

  • Maintain housekeeping standards with attention to detail. 

 

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required 

  • Selfstarter with the ability to stay on task and complete assignments in a timely manner without direct supervision.  

  • Ensure delivery of quality products and services through continuous monitoring and adherence to company standards and operating procedures.  

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to work well with others, and a positive attitude.  

  • Highly organized and taskoriented 

  • Ability to follow procedures accurately and in a timely manner to support company objectives 

  • Strong logic and reasoning skills to identify root causes and communicate potential solutions to leadership.  

  • Highly professional in conduct and communication.  

  • Must possess the necessary skills to complete required Smucker documentation.  

  • Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.  

  • Strong math and organizational skills.  

  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.  

  • Ability to function effectively under stress.  

  • Flexibility to work where and when needed based on operational demands.  

  • Must pass the forklift written test and driving skills test within two weeks of hire.  

  • Must be able to read and write basic English for workplace communication. 

 

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role: 

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in quality or inventory in Food manufacturing or another high-volume environment. 

  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure documents; understanding of shipping and receiving process documents as they relate to the company objectives. 

  • Reading, writing, basic English communication, excellent math skills, Microsoft Office Suite fluent. previous WMS experience, and ability to learn other warehousing software. 

 

 

 

Tools and Equipment:   

Forklifts, High reach lift, RF scan guns, electric and manual floor jacks, computer systems, bartenders, hot glue guns, and other department specific tools. 

 

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be high. 

 

Physical Demands: 

The employee must have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups to a maximum of 50 pounds
