Position Summary


Key Responsibilities

This senior role is a key contributor to the Talent Acquisition leadership team and actively participate to the design, implementation and execution of the Global Talent Acquisition strategy and roadmap and will be supporting global projects, governance, implementation of new ways of working.

With respect to the supporting global Commercialization and Global Talent Acquisition outside US:

  • Provide leadership to the recruitment teams (global commercialization and outside US talent acquisition teams) including oversight of full life cycle recruitment activities. Ensure US and Regional TA Partners have the resources needed to be successful in their roles, and act as a liaison between them and Senior Business Leaders, when required. Provide regular feedback to the team, establish career development goals through one-on-one meetings and performance planning and champion new ways of working within TA.

  • Responsible for robust understanding of current and future hiring activity, and for ensuring each TA Partner has an in-depth understanding of the business they’re supporting and the ability to resource appropriately.

  • Work closely with HRBP and Senior Business leaders to define Demand Planning and use data, operational reports, and insights from the hiring demand plan to partner with local in-house teams as well as with regional RPO Partners, to ensure appropriate resourcing is established.

  • Develop, engage and retain the Talent Acquisition teams inside and outside US, supporting in-house and hybrid TAs model and assessing capabilities and potential innovative ways to support the business needs by function and/or region.

  • Develop Commercialization and outside US strategic recruitment plans with regional TA leads that will attract and deliver qualified and diverse talent to BMS, in partnership with the other functional TA leads, RPO Partners ; Head of Talent Acquisition Sourcing & Engagement and Executive TA.

  • Closely partner with the TA S&O as well as TA Enablement team to ensure alignment between all TA Partners and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure strong partnership between TA Partners and Total Rewards Operations (TRO) and COE, to ensure proper understanding and education of compensation structure and enable the team to develop offers in line with that structure.

  • Leverage data to influence and recommend actions that will improve efficiency and Hiring Manager and Candidate satisfaction and experience.

  • Partner with the business leaders and TA Marketing and Engagement to identify the best resources to support BMS objectives in participation in industry conferences and congresses, and support achievement of the objectives.


Qualifications & Experience

  • 15 years+ sourcing/recruiting leadership experience, leading large, cross-functional and global teams - including 5-7 years’ experience within a Pharmaceutical/Biotech environment with emphasis on scientific/technical area strongly preferred

  • Deep experience as a strategic, visionary and operational leader of recruiting/sourcing teams globally, partnering deeply with the business and senior stakeholders

  • Experienced manager with large cross-functional teams; ability to manage a team of professionals at different levels, in-house and RPOs, maintaining engagement, development and delivery of all accountabilities

    • Champion of data-driven insights balanced with an instinct for improvement

    • Deep appreciation and respect for the fundamentals of talent acquisition, but creative, curious and innovative when considering modern tactics

    • Empathetic, emotionally intelligent, motivated and passionate

    • Highly resilient, relentless, and cheerful in the face of adversity

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize ad hoc market intelligence data to provide information (talent market trend, threats, opportunity, etc.) to be used at business strategy level to form decision

  • Expert level knowledge in recruitment process, inclusive of candidate attraction and relationship building, automation and AI

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders at most senior levels in a highly matrixed organization with the ability to work across cross-functional teams globally

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner and collaborate with business leaders, HRBP’s, Centers of Expertise and People Services to deliver the high-quality talent for the company

  • Strong understanding of technology and experience using talent acquisition systems, including Applicant Tracking, Candidate Relationship Management, Artificial Intelligence, Social Media Platforms, and other predictive tools

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and influence others to accomplish goals and objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to work with outsourced providers and contractors, if necessary

The starting compensation fort his job isa range from $230--$280, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the where the job is performed.
