Senior Manager SAP Release Management

What you will do

In this vital role you will The Senior Manager, SAP Change and Release Management, will spearhead IT change and release management initiatives within Amgen’s Global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) ecosystem. This role focuses primarily on SAP change and release management, encompassing the planning, scheduling, and deployment of changes and releases across various SAP systems.

As the key point of contact, you will provide essential support and expertise to business key users, Agile product teams, and SAP application specialists.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Change Advisory Boards (CAB) to ensure clarity of change requests throughout their lifecycle.

  • Identify and implement process improvements.

  • Supply to project and Agile/Scaled Agile (SAFe) product teams, collaborating closely with Change Request and Test Management from a change and release perspective.

  • Handle communication and alignment with international collaborators, being part of a dynamic team driving continuous improvement in Agile/SAFe processes.

  • Work on innovative projects and collaborate with international collaborators.

  • Assess and plan for the impact of ERP changes on departments and customers.

  • Develop and handle communication plans to engage ERP customers and provide clear messaging.

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree with 8 - 10 years of experience in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 - 14 years of experience in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR

  • Diploma with 14 - 18 years of experience in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT or related field

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Experience in an IT environment.

  • You possess experience in designing, operating, and improving release, change request, and test management processes.

  • You have hands-on experience with SAP TMS and SAP Change Control (ChaRM).

  • You have a background in project management, with experience in SAP ERP projects or ERP support organizations being a plus.

  • You have a strong understanding of service support processes and experience working in Agile/Scaled Agile (SAFe) environments.

  • You are proficient in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • You have experience handling regulated applications, particularly in Life Sciences or Pharmaceuticals.

  • You are adept at working in international, virtual teams, and can function as a cross-functional backup for Release Management and Change Request Management.

  • You possess knowledge of Computer Systems Validation (GxP) in a pharmaceutical company, with validation knowledge being a plus.

  • Flexibility in working hours is advantageous.

  • You are familiar with Agile methodologies for organizational change and SAP releases.

  • You have experience with organisational change tools and software.

Professional Certifications:

  • Scrum Master (preferred)

  • SAP certification (preferred)

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey sophisticated information clearly and persuasively.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in evaluating and adjusting organizational change plans based on feedback.

  • Ability to lead and empower teams, handle conflicts, and influence customers.

  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and lead change optimally in a dynamic environment.
