Job Summary

The Internal Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Internal Communications team in the planning, coordination and execution of internal communications content and tactics. The position supports the company’s internal communications efforts, helping build and maintain the company’s positive image and relationships with key internal stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  • Help create, review and coordinate communication plans and content for leaders and employees through various established communication channels and tactics (feature articles, talking points, blogs, social media content). Ensure compliance with Corporate and AP style and plain talk to support health literacy.

  • Coordinate internal-facing projects, manage confidential information and release content in a timely, professional manner.

  • Support social media and digital strategy, which may include community management, content development and analytic reporting.

  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional work through sister studios (Marketing, Customer Experience, Digital Experience): Coordinate with MX/EX partners to ensure communication activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage and ensure projects run smoothly, achieve their objectives and contribute to the overall success of the company's communications strategy. Identify projects that should be reflected in WorkFront.

  • Assist the Internal Communications team including weekly reporting summaries and KPI reports for campaigns.

What you need

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse internal and external audiences using clear, appropriate tone and voice.

  • Working knowledge of audience identification, channel selection, message development, accessibility considerations, and brand standards to support effective communication planning and execution.

  • Ability to manage day‑to‑day stakeholder communications, clarify needs, document decisions, and appropriately escalate risks or conflicts.

  • Ability to coordinate work across teams, track dependencies, and partner proactively to ensure shared accountability and follow‑through.

  • Ability to build and maintain communication project plans, timelines, status updates, and approval workflows aligned to objectives and key messages.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools and common communication and content platforms to support coordinated workflows, timelines, and reporting.

  • Ability to track, compile, and summarize communication metrics (e.g., email performance, intranet engagement, digital analytics) and communicate insights clearly.

  • Strong attention to accuracy, clarity, grammar, formatting, brand alignment, and accessibility, with the ability to identify issues early and coordinate corrections.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and shifting deadlines while communicating clearly about capacity, risks, and next steps.

  • Ability to apply sound judgment and structured thinking to address execution challenges, make appropriate trade‑offs, and determine when escalation is needed.

  • Demonstrated adaptability in a fast‑paced environment, incorporation of feedback into day‑to‑day work, and consistent follow‑through on commitments while contributing to continuous process improvement.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field required.

  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in areas such as corporate communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or social media required.

Compensation

$27.08 - $33.80 hourly
